If there's one Korean skincare brand that I will never ever get tired of recommending, it's SKIN1004. I was first introduced to the brand in 2021 through their Madagascar Centella Ampoule, and I've been a big fan ever since. Over time I was able to try 4 out of 7 products from their Tea-Trica line, so I thought I'd compile my thoughts on the collection all in one post.
Tea tree + Cica = Tea-Trica! 🌿 This line features Pine Tree Complex—a combination of King Pine leaf extract, cypress water, and tea tree leaf water—plus Centella Asiatica to effectively treat inflammation and soothe irritated skin. The Tea-Trica line is specifically designed to treat acne-prone and sensitive skin.
Tea-Trica BHA Foam — Shopee, Stylekorean
A deep cleansing foam cleanser with BHA (salicylic acid) and tea tree to unclog pores and remove excess sebum, oil, and dead skin cells. The texture is a creamy paste that lathers into a thick foam to softly cleanse the skin. It cleanses well without stripping the skin even with the BHA, so it's suitable for all skin types, but if you have oily-dehydrated skin like me, it might be too much to use daily. Maybe only in the evenings, or every other day. I use it when I think my skin needs a little extra cleansing. No alcohol or artificial fragrance, which is great. Worth checking out especially if you have problems with acne, blackheads, or congested pores.Tea-Trica Purifying Toner — Shopee, Stylekorean
Tea tree water toner enriched with pine tree complex and centella asiatica extract to soothe sensitive and acne prone skin, plus lavender flower extract and chestnut bark extract to help control sebum. It's a watery-type toner, so you can use it with cotton pads or your hands. Super lightweight and sinks into the skin quickly. I've used this for CSM (Chizu Saeki Method) and it feels great especially after a long day of wearing a full face of makeup. I find that it doesn't give me much in terms of hydration though, so I still have to layer this with other products. But if your skin is normal/oily/combo this would work well even on its own.Tea-Trica Purifying Relief Ampoule — Shopee, Stylekorean
Formulated with tea tree water and a high concentration (80%) of pine tree complex and centella asiatica extract, this ampoule instantly calms irritated skin and acne flare-ups. It's watery, non-sticky, and gets absorbed into the skin quickly. My skin really loves the original SKIN1004 Centella Ampoule (I've used 2 bottles, currently on my 3rd), so it's no surprise that it loves the Tea-Trica version as well! There was one day when my skin got irritated from my usual skincare testing, but using this plus the Tea-Trica Toner calmed my skin right down. 10/10 for me!If you have the original Centella Ampoule, I recommend that one for daily use and the Tea-Trica for breakouts or if you need extra soothing/calming.
Tea-Trica Spot Cover Patch — Shopee, Stylekorean
Skin-like pimple patches that absorb gunk from acne and prevents bacteria from coming in, creating an ideal environment for the spot to heal. These are ultra-thin, semi-transparent, and are water resistant. Each pack has 22 patches with 2 sizes: 10mm and 12mm. Because they're the slim type, you can use them with makeup and they would be barely noticeable unless you look super closely. Honestly though, I thought these would have some sort of special ingredient like tea tree or cica (or both) to help speed up healing, but they're just ordinary hydrocolloid patches 😅 They're a lot more expensive than my usual pimple patches too, so it just feels a little scammy to me. Hard pass on this one.💌 SKIN1004 is available locally on Shopee. For those outside the PH, you can find them on StyleKorean (*´︶`*)♡
