I hope you're not tired of me reposting from Instagram yet! In case you missed it—I'm currently trying to declutter and curate my Instagram to make it more personal again, so I've been moving a lot of the beauty-related content here. This particular one is from May last year, and is more of a first impressions post than an actual review, but hopefully you'll find it useful still!
V10 Hyal Antioxidant Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ — Shopee, Olive Young
An antioxidant-rich sunscreen packed with 10 kinds of vitamins plus hyaluronic acid to brighten, nourish, and moisturize the skin—all while providing complete sun protection. It's quite lightweight, somewhere between ampoule and lotion. It's easy to spread onto the skin and not at all sticky or greasy for me, but I've seen other reviews saying they had problems with blending this out. I didn't have that problem, but I noticed that it does take a while to dry down. There is a white cast because of the Titanium Dioxide, sadly. This also has alcohol and fragrance, which is so strange to me as it's marketed for sensitive skin.Even though this sunscreen wasn't exactly the most cosmetically elegant, I used it well back when I was still pregnant. That was up until I found out that it had retinol in the ingredients 🥲 I was 5 months pregnant at the time, so I had to stop using it immediately. I wish they would have mentioned it in the product description! I had to find it in the ingredients list after someone else mentioned it (it was almost at the end of the list).
Overall an okay sunscreen, but not something I'd recommend personally. Especially now that there are a lot of other, much better choices for the same price point or even lower.
Retinol Intense Advanced Triple Action Eye Cream — Shopee, Olive Young
A triple-action eye cream that features 0.1% retinol for reducing wrinkles, niacinamide for brightening, and peptides for skin firming. It claims to improve skin elasticity by 7.23% and pore area by 14.25% after just 2 weeks of use, and also to improve dark circles by 5.38%, melanin by 0.34%, and skin brightness by 0.65% after 4 weeks. This eye cream is super creamy in texture and blends into the skin beautifully. Lightweight and doesn't feel sticky/greasy upon application. There's a bit of fragrance in this, but it goes away after a while. Sadly I wasn't able to test this further, even after giving birth, as it turns out you're not supposed to use retinol while breastfeeding. Some of my close friends have told me that it worked really well for them though, so hopefully in a couple of years I can try it again and see for myself.
