Hello everyone! Apologies for being MIA again. I've been in a bit of a slump and haven't been able to do anything blog-related recently. I actually have a ton of things I want to write about, but I'm the type that has to feel good to be able to get good results — if I don't feel like doing it 100%, I save it for later. It's just that this time, "later" turned out to be after almost two weeks. Sorry! Here's a quick (yet very image heavy) life update.
Early last month Aian and I dropped by SMX for O-kun Fiesta 2. Honestly there wasn't much difference from this event and all the other ACG events we've attended, but one of the highlights of this day (for me) was meeting Mika of Heroine Complex in person (finally) and taking home Wobbuffet and Gengar plushies!
Since the start of my KonMari-ing journey, I've been taking a ton of my old clothes to H&M. I found out about their garment collecting initiative through Ashley, but wasn't sure if they did this locally too, so I called up the main office just to make sure. I was told that all H&M branches in the Philippines are part of it. All you need to do is bring your old, unused clothes to H&M and ask the staff about their program. They'll give you a 15% discount coupon for each bag of clothes you bring, and you get a maximum of 2 coupons per visit. Doesn't really matter to me though, since I don't think I'll be shopping for new clothes anytime soon.
My mom's side of the family took a trip to Pansol, Laguna to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. We rented a private resort with a hot spring pool—which is quite common in Pansol—for 2 nights and 1 day. We did this last year as well, but I liked this year's resort a lot better.
I finally convinced Aian to try the newly-opened Korean restaurant near his place, Biwon. I found out from my brother that Biwon actually used to be in Aguirre Avenue (a popular foodie destination in the South), until they relocated here. The food and ambience were great, but I was disappointed to find out that the lettuce for making ssam wasn't unlimited. You can get an unlimited number of sides, but only one basket of lettuce for each order of meat :(
Attended the launch of Canmake's newest product, the Airy Cover Fit Foundation. I wore pink and white to match the Canmake aesthetic! Ashley and Anne were also at the event, so that made me slightly less awkward. Also, Canmake PH's HQ is sooo cute! I wanted to live there so much!
I attended my first (and last, sadly) BLushcon last July 9th. Aian was there with me, because we both wanted to see kidchan, who was there as a guest. I don't have any photos of the event, since the con itself was mostly just stalls of merch + a sea of girls. Also because I was too busy looking for Kenma things to buy, heh.
It's been raining on and off these past few days – some days it's rainy, some it's super sunny. It's been humid the entire time though, so the weather has been really gross and sticky. It's cute to see the kids cuddle up when it's raining though. Cuddle weather! Makes me want to get in that clothes hamper too.
We celebrated a super late Father's Day with my dad at Go!Kizip in Adriatico. After trying out Biwon, I realized I really like Go!Kizip more. There are A LOT more sides and you can get an unlimited number of everything, including the lettuce. There's a Korean supermarket beside it too, with lots of ice cream and Chocopie!
Just last Saturday, I went to watch my favorite revolutionary girls, Seishun Kakumei, while they perform at an ACG charity event in Greenbelt. I didn't stay long for the event itself, instead I went backstage and hung out with everyone. (As usual, chaos ensued, haha.) Love love these girls ♥
