Something shiny arrived at my doorstep a few days ago! It's the new Zenfone 2 Laser, sent courtesy of ASUS Philippines and Di9it ♥
Size comparison with my iPhone 5.
I got a bit too excited and told friends I'd be reviewing it, only to realize that I am in no way a tech blogger.. Nor am I techie, for that matter. I only use my phone for three things: messaging, games, and taking photos. So how do I even begin to judge if it's a good phone or not? It's pretty, it's shiny, it's gold. Those 3 things were enough to make me like it.. so shallow.
The only drawbacks for me, were that 1) it's an Android phone (I've been using iPhones since 2013, so I've gotten way too used to iOS devices) and 2) it's HUGE. It's hard to hold with just one hand and it can barely fit in my pocket. The good thing about the size though, is that it's great for reading stuff like blog posts and manga scans. It's also great for games since you have a bigger screen. That is, except for LoveLive! SIF -- I can't reach the circles with my thumbs in time wtf.

Excellent photo quality. The colors are gorgeous!
Right now I'm road-testing the camera, and will continue do so for around a week or two. I've been liking it so far, but if it's photo quality we're talking about, I'm still very biased towards the iPhone. But what I'm really impressed with, is the front cam's Beautification function! It works SO well that I didn't have to install the BeautyPlus app anymore haha ( 〃´艸`〃)
Overall it's a pretty nice phone, but I much prefer the iPhone for texting and SNS. I do like the Zenfone 2 Laser, but for other things, like games, reading blogs.. Snapchat. I also prefer the Zenfone's front camera over the iPhone's. A hundred times over. I don't think I've taken any selcas using the iPhone these days, haha. Personal bias aside though, if you're looking for a phone with A+ camera quality for a good price (~P8,6900), I'd say the Zenfone 2 Laser is a great choice, so definitely give it a look.
